To add lustre to the festivities surrounding the world's first lottery in Bruges in 1441, the National Lottery is treating you to a free performance of the hymn to Fortuna from Carl Orff's masterpiece Carmina Burana, performed by an impressive choir in the fairy-tale setting of De Burg. Carmina Burana is the largest and most famous collection of medieval texts and poems.

O Fortuna

Fortuna is the goddess of fate, often depicted with a blindfold as fate does not discriminate . This interpretation of the hymn to the goddess forms the foundation of Orff's work: 'Enjoy this intense happiness because it may soon be over'.

This performance is an excerpt from Prima Donna Events' new production that is touring the country now, in the hands of choreographer/director Gerard Mosterd, assistant choreographer Julia Mitomi and dramaturg Jean-François D'hondt.

Admission to this event is free, but booking your spot is required.

This is an outdoor event, with Covid Safe Ticket and face mask.
